south of hagerstown toward frederick and some light snow flurries showing up in the western part of garrett county. it is very minimal. most of the area is dry especially over baltimore and the eastern shore and it will stay that way into the afternoon it would just be one drop of rain. that is good news for the afternoon commute. the winds are a little bumpy. you might have to grit your steering well as receive wind gusts up to 26 miles per hour at the airport and near 30 miles per hour in gaithersburg and hagerstown. it is very windy out there and the winds are coming from the west down the mountains and this helps to warm the air. it goes down the mountain in the air compressors and that causes it to warm. that is why you are seeing warm conditions east of the mountains but everywhere west is much colder, only 32 degrees in oakton. the temperatures rise going toward the east where we have the upper 50's. there's also some colder air pushing in against the mountain and that will arrive our way tonight into tomorrow. expected temperatures to drop down tonight. after reaching the low 60's t

back towards garrett county, maryland. parts of west virginia. west of the mountains, it is not going to get here at all. we are going to stay on the mild side of things. breezy conditions and mild. that's what we saw today. after our front moved through. tomorrow the storm system moves farther out. what we see tomorrow is sunshine. again, to the western slope here we are looking at a chance important snow. for us, on the downslope of the mountains, we are going to be on the warm side again. temperatures into the low to middle 50s on our wednesday. thursday will be the day of transition. we will see mild temperatures and highs still in the low 50s, i think. cloud cover and then frontal boundary, that front could give us showers and possibly thunderstorms and then the cold air rushes on in. we are going to see very cold conditions on friday. and on saturday. i think wind chills both days will stay in the 30s all day long bp time that we get cold air in here. and it is coming just in time for the start of winter and also for the christmas holiday.
